Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Memberships

Dr. Nicholas Banks (Ph.D.) is the lead clinician. He is a UK trained (Chartered with the British Psychological Society and HCPC registered) child and family clinical psychologist with over 30 years experience in working with a range of complex children’s needs - involving such concerns as learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders including Asperger's syndrome, fears and anxieties, and behavioural and emotional difficulties. Dr Banks has additional post graduate qualifications in developmental disorders.

In addition to his clinical practice experience, Dr Banks was also a leading university researcher in transcultural issues relating to child care practice including fostering and adoption.

Dr. Banks also has forensic qualifications and experience and is able to carry out specialist assessments on child and family matters for court of law purposes in the UK and, where acceptable, abroad.

We offer consultation and training to Universities and professionals and have recently worked in Sudan offering training to Afhad University for Women and the Sudanese Ministry of Health in working with traumatised children and meeting their therapeutic needs.

We offer a multidisciplinary assessment and, where necessary, this will involve child therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, audio therapists and specialist teachers. We have Arabic speakers in our professional team.

Dr Nicholas Banks (Ph.D.) is: A member of the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a member of the Royal Society of Medicine, a member of the International Association for Forensic Psychotherapy, a registered Euro Psychologist and HCPC registered.
